Welcome to Digitrovert. A blog where you can find posts related to electronics, engineering, and technology in general. This is the first post that I am writing for Digitrovert. Going to share my experience of my recent visit to an IEEE academic conference here. Hope you have a good time reading this and my future posts.
IEEE and it's members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe. As an undergraduate student studying a super specialised branch of Electical Engineering, presenting a research paper at an IEEE conference is like a dream come true. The International Conference on Technology for Education (T4E 2018) was held during December 10 – 13, 2018 at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. It is the ninth in a series of annual events with the first two having been organized by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore in 2009 and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2010. The objective is to bring together all colleagues interested in promoting learning and teaching through the use of information and communication technology (ICT). The conference provides a forum for researchers from all over the world to discuss new and scalable methods in the field of educational technology and pedagogy. T4E conference is sponsored by IEEE computer society and IEEE Technical committee on learning technologies.

Delegates from several reputed institutes working in the field of education technology participated in the conference to present their research in the field. The sessions included paper presentations by education technology researchers, industry sessions, workshops, panel discussions, poster presentations and even a cultural night. The papers presented by participants included some of the latest findings of the field of education technology. Workshop on content augmentation was conducted by NPTEL-IIT M team. A panel discussions was also organised by NPTEL team, the following day. The conference included several talks by veterans of the field.

I presented my paper "Design Engineering: A curriculum on Design Thinking" at T4E 2018. Being interested in Education domain, I decided to perform an in depth analysis and study of Design Engineering. This research is intended for colleges or universities planning to introduce design thinking in their syllabus. Design Engineering is a subject of engineering undergraduate curriculum at Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to inculcate the culture of innovation in engineering students. The subject is studied by engineering students of all disciplines during second and third year. To know more log on to: Design Engineering portal.
